I was the child that my parents tried to keep up till my bedtime. I was ALWAYS the first to fall asleep at slumber parties, I knew that they there going to do things to me when I fell asleep, but I just couldn't stop myself. I think I was the only one in college that enjoyed taking the early classes, because I was wide awake.
Side Note: I married a HUGE night owl!
So, I go to bed early, so what....
Last night I was all geared up to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics, had the kids in bed, and myself with a hot cup of tea all ready to watch. Next thing I know, Beau is waking me up at midnight telling me to go to bed. Yep, I missed the whole thing, it started at like 8:45 and I was sound asleep on the couch before it even began...I saw NOTHING...it started at 8:45 and I missed the WHOLE thing...and I really wanted to see it!
Okay, so I might not be a night owl...does that matter?
I have another confession to make...

Beau and I like to watch Murder She Wrote...
Yep, the show that retirees in the 80's loved...that's the one.
And most nights as we sat watching Angela solving those crazy murders I sat crocheting away. Yes, I'm 32 years old and I spend my nights watching Murder She Wrote and crocheting. Well, as long as it's not too late that is, I need to be in bed by 9!

I LOVE Diagnosis Murder. I've been a closet watcher from way back in the day. Not sure why I love it so much. Okay, that's I lie...
since I'm on a confession role this morning I might was well tell you that I have a major crush on Dick Van Dyke. But it's a slightly weird crush...

Seriously! I have a crush on him...but it's not a normal crush, I call it my "Grandpa Crush!" I love Dick Van Dyke and I want him to be my grandpa...I never had a grandpa so I have visions of visiting my grandparents house and Dick Van Dyke opening up the door and giving me a great big hug! I have visions of the wonderfully funny times we'd have over the Thanksgiving table, the laughs and tears we'd share. He'd be a grandpa that I could call up and talk to about stuff...okay so I know it's a little weird.
So lets sum up my confessions...I go to bed WAY early, I love to watch Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder, I crochet, I have a crush on Dick Van Dyke...
oh, and I drive a Buick LaSabre...I've been complaining about my car, but now that I see it all in print I'm pretty sure that I'm driving the right car, maybe I'm in the wrong body? I need to find a body about 40 years older than the one I got!

Didn't Beau play that Dick Van Dyke part in Mary Poppins in the 5th grade ? Maybe you need a copy of our video to watch some night when you can stay up late (-:
I love Diagnosis Murder too! But I like to stay up late, so it all evens out for me in the end. :)
So, I've picked up crocheting, too :) What do you make? I've been making headbands for my nieces and hacky sacks for my boys. I even made a "Bob the Tomato" for Zac. :)
I'll admit I have a crush on Sean Connery, but not the young version either. There I said it!
Seriously, folks, she was the 'Kid Who Never Missed Bedtime". I didn't know there was such a thing untill Kiera came along. We'd have company over with kids playing all over outside and along about 8pm...wait a minute, where's Kiera? I'd find her curled up asleep on her bed.
