missing...

we started the hunt with 54 plastic eggs & 18 real eggs =72 eggs
72 eggs / by 3 kids =24 eggs per child

after counting 3 times yesterday
3 times...
all 3 times I came up with the same number...

boy child...
17 plastic + 7 real=24
sweet little niece
19 plastic + 5 real= 24
girl child....
17 plastic + 5 real= 22 (our 2 missing)

Random Friday

Just have some random thoughts on this Friday morning...

I love new sheets...
   got new sheets for our bed yesterday....makes my heart happy

re-reading Hunger Games...

   not because of the movie.
   but because it's our book club book (chosen back in December)
& yes
     I had Hunger Games dreams all night long!
even with my new happy sheets....

girl child is sick on the last 2 days of school before spring break
....and today is the day they watch 'THE MOVIE'....
so this afternoon I will bring 'THE MOVIE' home...
pop some popcorn
     and the girl and I will have a nice little private viewing!
sad that she's sick...
     a little glad that this is how God worked out 'THE MOVIE' situation!
p.s. Beau and I have already watched 'THE MOVIE' and we were 100% okay with her watching it, zero hesitation...it's the perfect amount of information!

we have zero activities planned for spring break
     (besides THE MOVIE with the girl child tonight)
was hoping to visit the cousins, but I'm thinking sickness on both ends have canceled those plans
bummer...but thankful I never told the kids of the plans!

it's rainy and deary outside...feels like January...
I'm 'dressed' in my yoga pants...

     with zero plans to hit the gym today...

oh, hello there

wow...so I dropped off the face of blogging for awhile...
life has been busy
and I've made the choice numerous times to not blog and hang out with my kids instead...
I'm cherishing my kids...
and then I'm also putting in steady hours at work...
so less time at home to waste on the internet keep my house clean
so now I have to spend those hours at home cleaning and such...
not blogging...
and well,
there's also pintrest...

we all had one...

we loved the Zelcro close...

sleepy

Yesterday I dragged myself thru the day...
I was so sleepy...
I couldn't keep my eyes open, yawning all day long...
I had had not 1
not 2
but 3 cups of coffee...

   

almost had cup number 4 but it was 3 pm and decided that wasn't a good idea...
ended up going to bed at 8:30...
yes, the kids are gone for the week and mom's in bed at 8:30...that's how we party!
since I went to bed at 8:30, I was wide awake at 5:30 this morning,
I stroll out to the kitchen to make the coffee...
and grabbed the coffee out of the freezer...
and just before I pour the beans into the grinder I realize that I had just grabbed the decaf...
the same coffee that I had used yesterday...
....decaf....
today will be better...
I will have regular coffee today and hope that this mom can make it past 8:30!!!

Cheese

13 years and I still can't take a decent picture...well maybe now I can blame it on the photographers...

and this was the place that I was going to post some of our really cheesy wedding photos when we learned that even with a professional I have a hard time taking pictures...but I have NO idea where I have packed or unpacked our wedding album!

so instead...

getting ready to head out for our anniversary date and we asked the kids if they could take a picture of us...and this is what we got!

this was probably one of my best picture smiles E.V.E.R...and it's blurry!

 totally had my leg lifted in the 'kiss' pose and she cut it off!

not too bad...probably not going to frame it, but we have taken much worse...and by 'we' I mean me!

and just to be safe, we settle for our standard, take our own photo of my

'kiss-him-on-the-cheek-so-no-one-can-tell-that-I-really-can't-fake-a-smile-pose!'

simple math

okay so it's not really math...
just an observation
an observation of  what a + b =

and I'll go on the record to say I am in no way a perfect parent, I make a fair amount of mistakes in my parenting choices every day...

but just thinking...

if you take all the parents that blatantly disregard the school drop off loop rules and see how well their children follow rules we might start seeing a connection....

knock, knock, parents...are you in there?
...you can NOT expect your children to follow...obey...respect...
your rules...the school rules...the rules of society
if you 'teach' them that the safety rules and regulations that the school has repeatedly informed ALL of us about don't apply to you!...

1 parent that breaks the rules + a child watching that parent = a child with zero respect for rules!

I vote for a school jail on the front lawn on the school...
that other parents...a jury of their peers...
can vote the parents that break the school drop off loop rules into...
I would also like a safety patrol sash* and cute hat...

turn the collar into a sash...my new uniform

and a 'ticket' pad...
and all money paid from the fines would replace all the cookie dough, wrapping paper, candied nuts sales!

Random Sunday Ramblings!

Sunday....

the family is recovering from the girl child's first slumber party....

she has had sleep overs before
...but this was a PARTY...

with multiple girls from 8-10....

we thought turning the double digits was worthy of a grand party...

the cake is a bed...because she was having a slumber party...

and now I am so very tired...

we 'hosted' 7 girls from after school on Friday (1:45pm is when school gets out!)

until 9:30am on Saturday

silly me, I left the invitation with a large block of pick up times...8-9:30 am...should have just put 9:30...
that was roughly 19 hours...didn't do the math until the day of...

fyi...don't need to plan a thing for slumber parties...

I will say this...
the girl child has great friends and they were all sweet and well behaved.
I love that my daughter has such quality friends!

I will also say...
I think because I love my husband I will never make monkey bread again...

I made it for 'breakfast' for the girls on Saturday...
and Beau ate it for breakfast,
lunch,
dinner,
2nd dinner,
dessert...
and then was looking in the fridge for more refrigerator biscuits so I could make more, after he licked the plate clean!

and girl child's bffsb (best friend forever since birth) stayed thru the day and spent the night again....

so we could do our annual walk to the downtown Christmas parade...

fun, but now I am tired...

girl child just woke up from a 2 1/2 hr Sunday afternoon nap!

the boy child spent Friday night at a friends house

he need to get the heck out of dodge...

in a few years he'll be begging to stay home when his older sister is having a slumber party...but right now, a room full of cute girls just looks like crazy!

boy child also drank bad egg nog this afternoon...

probably should have checked the date before I poured...

he asked me if I mixed the egg nog with orange juice...

hmmm, pretty sure that's not good

I was worried it might have ruined the nog for him,

but he jumped right back on the wagon and we opened up a fresh carton and he drank an entire glass...still praying the bad nog stays put and doesn't come back up, bringing with it the good nog!

boy child also asked me today

"what's more important, Christmas tree skirts or Red Power Rangers?"

guess who was sewing a Christmas tree skirt and who wanted me to print off a picture of the Red Power Ranger for him to color....

well, think the rain has let up for the family to jet out and pick up our Christmas tree...

long fun weekend...
I may or may not blog about the bed cake...so easy...we'll see...
