and it's Finished!...almost

and NO, I'm not talking about me "weekend closet project" that we started what, 5 weeks ago???

no, my friend Kim's bedroom peacock mural...is finished...and the almost part was because she isn't finished accessorising, but we finished up the rest of the details on the peacock, cleaned up a few lines, added a few polka dots (I like dots) and then a friend Kristie put some vinyl letters up (WAY UP) for her...

we started with a large red wall, a rough sketch of what we wanted and some sidewalk chalk...

started painting...

then stopped for a few weeks...there were about 4 of us painting this and trying to help Kim get it finished...so we would all come at different times and work little bits here and there...
the Ms. Pea (my name for the peacock...well, because that's the only appropriate nickname for a peacock...) had been drawn by Alyssa, who did an amazing job...painted by Alyssa, Becca, James (Becca's husband) and I over a few different painting sessions...(no one liked painting on the ladder)
Kim (& her husband Brad) just weren't completely happy with Ms. Pea...they felt like she just didn't fit in with the rest of the mural...
so I went back today and..
...well...
we're a group of curvy women...and Ms. Pea just wasn't fitting in...so...
Ms. Pea needed some augmentation...

Ms. Pea is now feeling much better about herself, I think she's holding her head just a little higher...

and them Kim had another "job"...notice the white ledge above the mural, to the right of Ms. Pea...well...
Kim had some of those vinyl wall letters that wouldn't go ANYWHERE else in her house and the ledge was the only logical place for them...
this is where my friendship finds it's limit...
I might risk my life on a ladder painting Ms. Pea
(I will have you know I came close to death multiple times painting Ms. Pea)...
but climbing onto a small ledge that's a good 3 feet higher than the door...
Yeah...NO...
but we have a friend, Kristie, that never grew to the height of an adult therefore can climb into small spaces, and high spaces because she is so small that if she fell she'd float down like a leaf...
so Kristie risked life and limb and climbed up onto Kim's ledge and hung the vinyl wall art...

don't ask me what it says...something about love and wildflowers...

we tried to talk Kristie into a "butt bounce" dismount down off the ledge and onto the bed...

but she opted for the ladder...

While Kristie was finishing up the wall decal I was adding some more painting to other area's of Kim's room, she had an empty space above her slider that she needed something painted...

so I painted this, inspired by the candle holder that is on her ledge...

Finished...Ms. Kim and Ms. Pea...

oh...and...a lesson to Mr. Brad...when ladies are planning on being in your room...and possibly moving furniture...that happens to be your night stand....you may want to hide evidence of your double life...

yep...Brad had a chain, a "grill" and some "bling bling" in his nightstand...that Brad is such a gan'sta...
